For those of you who have been following the fortunes of the
teams competing in the Southern England Region you will have noticed that the
last round saw two of the behemoths of the league go head to head when Sussex
hosted Southampton. The Swans were keen
to make up for last year's defeat at the hands of Bournemouth in the inaugural Grand
Final, while the Titans were focussing on maintaining their
excellent start to the season.

Some of the best
work happens over a cup of tea.
This mantra is one oft repeated, and is
what the British
Empire was founded upon. However, it's not only empires which
arise as a result of a quick chat, Aussie Rules teams can also come into being
from nothing more than a few innocent questions over a custard cream.
Such a situation
is where the countries newest team, the Dulwich Dragons, came from after Mark De
Stefanis turned to his colleague to chat about AFL in Britain. His colleague just happened to be
Jonathan Boyle, legend of the game in Britain and current captain of the GB
Bulldogs. The discussion wandered
from general topics along to why there were no teams in South East London and

compete in the London region?

Results are begining to come in from the weekends matches, with some big results changing tables. The Wildcats beat a strong North London side 16.10 (106) to 8.5 (53) to continue their strong start to the London season.
Meanwhile in the Southern England Region the Southampton Titans showed their strength with a huge win over Chippenham Redbacks 29.19 (193) to 1.4 (10), a result which moves them above Sussex who had the week off. With the two sides due to meet this coming weekend both will no doubt be spend the time until then working out how to get one over and claim early season bragging rights on the South coast.
The high goal count in that match didn't result in Scott Rymer losing his place at the top of the goalscoring charts however, a position he will be aiming to maintain until the end of the year.
More results to follow soon.

Sussex have got a bye, meaning the rest of the teams have the opportunity to
make up some ground on the early leaders as well as giving players a chance to
