However, Coach Stuart Head appreciates that they’ve got a
long way to go yet. "I would say as
a group have worked extremely hard over the Pre-Season with huge emphasis on
having fun when playing this great game,” he exclusively told AFLGB
Monthly. “If we lose the fun we lose the
passion! Each one of our guys has come from a different background but the
belief is there to not only to learn the game or to play it overseas but to
rise to every challenge and succeed.
It’s hard to form a team in 6 weeks of pre-season, so instead we started
in October last year more as a kick-about, but to the players credit they gave
it 100% and this has helped the playing group immensely. Positive relationships have been made on and
off the field which from a coaching perspective makes my job easier, but the
mate ship is shown along with trust and that's one element of a team! “We have had a terrific start to the season but it doesn't stop there. I've informed the boys that we need to continue and complete our mission. Each player is a valuable asset to the team and as such I want every player to achieve their dream. Besides, it’s not every day they will be playing Aussie Rules in Britain and these memories will stay with them forever". |
