Round 5 was certainly one with a few shock results in it, and has blown the race for the Premiership minor flag wide open.  Two incredibly tight matches saw the London Swans picking up their first win and first points of the season against Wimbledon 4.13 (37) 6.8 (44), while Putney pulled off arguably the shock of the season so far by defeating defending champions West London by just four points, 6.8 (44) 7.6 (48).

The Conference saw something more approaching normal service resume however, with the Shepherds Bush Raiders beating the Magpies 14.12 (96) 5.4 (34) to continue their 100% start to the season.  Reading got revenge over the Swans after their previous close defeat to run out 17 point winners with a 8.4 (52) 5.5 (35) victory. 

These results see West London sitting at the top of the Premiership and Conference ladders, although not necessarily in a position of total strength. Wandsworth and a strong Putney join them on points in the Premiership race, with the other three clubs seperated by just a win and goal difference.

The Conference though is a different story, with the Raiders roaring into a strong position and Wandsworth not far behind.  Each of the remaining clubs in the competition are more than capable of beating each other, so it's shaping up to be a classic year for the second tier.
