| New AFL Britain Logo Launched |

AFL Britain President Sam Percy had this to say about the new logo, as well as a few other things about the organisation.
"The
last time I wrote something here I mentioned that the word 'Great' had been
inserted into the association name. Well, it had, but then it was deleted again.
When the AFL finally got around to going to work on the logo, they checked with
us again which name we preferred. I was about to say the longer one, but the
British guys on the committee then decided the short name would look better and
be easier to say. And it turned out they weren't overly offended by the lack of
the word 'Great' after all.
This
island is Great Britain, and that is the area we cover. We don't cover Northern
Ireland at all, they are under the government of the ARFLI, I believe. So the UK
is not our domain. And we are not specifically English either, as whilst both
Wales and Scotland have their own associations, for now we are under the same
umbrella, even if we don't actually do a lot for each other just yet. That will
hopefully change as AFL Britain hits its stride.
So
this is the British association and we operate in Great Britain. But nobody is
going to be confused by the omission of the word 'Great' in the association
title. And the logo looks a lot better, and it is much quicker to say, which
will hopefully reduce the number of times we are reduced to an acronym, which
sounds far less sexy.
So it
is AFL Britain officially, and in red, white and blue!"

AFL Britain are proud to announce it's new logo is now officially launched and adopted. After working hard to agree it with the AFL, the new logo will help establish us as an integral part of the wider international AFL community and follows the new style guidance being introduced to govern AFL branding across the globe.
