Good ruck work results in the ball being moved straight to a teammate and one of the easiest ways of doing this is the palm-off.  This skill should be used when the person you are tapping it to is relatively close by.

Its name implies exactly what you should do: hit the ball with the palm of your hand towards a teammate.  This obviously becomes more difficult under pressure, but with a certain amount of practice and determination can become second nature.
