There are going to be plenty of times during a game where a kick or conventional hand pass is simply going to be smothered by your opponent and you need to get rid of the ball.  In this situation you do have an option - a bouncing hand pass.

The idea behind this type of pass is to hit the ball to a teammate via a bounce or two, which should help you to move the ball out of trouble especially in congested areas.

Hold the ball as you would for a regular hand pass and complete the movement in a similar way.  However, instead of hitting it through the air you are aiming to have it hit the floor and bounce forwards.  Whether it takes one bounce or more than one doesn't matter too much, as long as it gets there.  Obviously the more bounces a ball takes the more likely it is to go off course, so try to keep bounces to a minimum.

This is a really useful skill to have in your locker, and is a simple one to practice as well.
