Teams play for points - four for a win, two for a draw and none for a defeat. At the end of each round a ladder is produced, which is simply another name for the league table. At the end of the season the top four teams take part in a play-off style series of games, with the winner of the Grand Final being declared champions. Fixtures & Results

Aussie rules is scored and won in a similar way to other sports - whoever has the most points at the end of the match wins, should the scores be the same it is a draw. Each goal scored is worth six points, with each behind worth one. Scores are displayed as a series of digits: goals.behinds.points. So, if a score reads 7.12.54 it means a team has scored seven goals (worth 42 points at six points a goal), 12 behinds (worth 12 points) and has a total score of 54 (goal points polus behind points). You can see how important it is to get the ball through the right pair of posts!
